The Way Forward After Merkel

Brännpunkt Europa invites you to an interesting lunch lecture about chancellor Merkel's stepwise departure from politics and its impact on the German and European political arena.

The speaker will be Anna Lührmann, a former member of the German Bundestag. She was the youngest member of parliament for the Green Party from 2002-2009. She currently is an assistant professor at the department of political science and the deputy head of the V-Dem institute.

Anna will talk about the recent developments in German politics since the parliamentary elections in Germany in 2017 and possible future scenarios after Merkel's upcoming departure. In addition, she will explore potential consequences for European politics.
