Christian Leffler, head of the Department for Relations with North
and South America in the European External Action Service (EEAS), lectures on Foreign Policy of the EU and the new EEAS.
Christian Leffler took up his function as Managing Director for the Americas
in the newly created European External Action Service in January 2011.
He had previously been Deputy Director General for Development and
Relations with African, Caribbean and Pacific States in the European Commission,
while also advising the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and
Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Baroness Ashton,
on matters related to the establishment of the External Action Service.
