Europe in the World - Whence and whither?

In a changing global order, Europe’s relations with different parts of the world are currently subject to much debate. Key questions concern how issues of security, trade and migration are managed in various governmental and societal relationships with the outside world. What interests, norms and values are expressed in these relationships? How does the outside world, in turn, view the relevance of Europe in an increasingly globalized world order?

These questions will be addressed by three distinguished speakers: Christian Leffler (Managing Director for the Americas, European External Action Service, EEAS), Claes-Göran Alvstam (Professor of International Economic Geography, GU), and Göran Larsson (Professor of Religious Studies, GU). The panel discussion will be moderated by Lisbeth Aggestam and Ann-Kristin Jonasson (Department of Political Science, GU).
