Ambassadors debate

The world is currently facing many crises ranging from Afghanistan to Syria or Somalia, just to mention a few conflict areas. The 50 years of peace in Europe is an astonishing achievement worth acknowledging and celebrating. Exactly 50 years ago France and Germany signed the Élysée Treaty: an agreement reinforcing the reconciliation between two former rivals. It solidified peace in Europe and formed the foundation for what would eventually became the European Union.

To mark the 50 years of peace in Europe, Brännpunkt Europa invites you to attend a debate between the French ambassador Jean-Pierre Lacroix and the German ambassador Harald Kindermann .The two ambassadors will discuss the evolvement of European partnership, where we stand today and what the future might hold for Europe.
